Land Encroachment at Tribhuvan University Exposed: Report Highlights State Negligence

The Ministry of Education has finally released a report on land encroachment at Tribhuvan University’s Kirtipur campus. According to the report, out of more than 5,000 ropani of land within the campus, approximately 1,000 ropani has been encroached upon by various organizations and entities, with or without official permission.

The report had been withheld and stalled for years during the Oli government. Its release now exposes extreme misuse of university property and negligence by state authorities. Experts say this situation reflects weak governance, poor monitoring, and administrative lapses.

The report is expected to increase pressure on the government and university administration to take corrective measures and prevent similar encroachments in the future.
