Troubled with Anything or Everything! ( A very short story)

The Coffee That Didn’t Spill

By Rameshwar Yadav

“Don’t be troubled with anything or everything. Sometimes, even a pause has purpose.

It was a rainy morning when the city’s first tram broke down in the middle of the road. Inside, people started to panic. Office workers cursed their luck, students complained about being late, and an old man muttered that it was all the government’s fault.

Only one person stayed calm — a young woman named Mira, holding a cup of coffee that had already gone cold. She looked out at the rain, smiled a little, and said, “Maybe the city just wants us to pause.”

A man beside her frowned. “Pause? We’re stuck!”

“Yes,” she said, “but think about it — we never stop unless something makes us.”

For a moment, everyone went quiet. Through the fogged glass, they saw a shopkeeper run into the rain to rescue a small puppy from the street. A child giggled, tracing her finger on the tram window as raindrops raced down like silver lines.

Mira took a slow sip of her cold coffee and whispered, “See? Not everything that stops us is bad.” Then she added softly, “Don’t be troubled with anything or everything. Sometimes, even a pause has purpose.”

Five minutes later, the tram began to move again. No one complained anymore. Some thought about their deadlines, some about the puppy, and one man quietly admired the woman whose coffee never spilled — even when everything else did.

Moral: Don’t be troubled by everything that goes wrong. Sometimes, a stop is just life asking you to breathe.
